Engine & Drivetrain

This VE SV6 Ute is being offered strictly as a project, donor, or build-base vehicle, and is priced and represented accordingly. The factory LLT 3.6-litre V6 engine is currently operational however does exhibit known mechanical issues that prospective buyers should factor into their build planning.

The engine is known to burn oil, a common concern on higher-mileage Alloytec/LLT engines, and should be considered a candidate for repair, refresh, or replacement depending on the intended use. In addition, a Cylinder 6 misfire code is stored in the ECU memory. While the misfire is not currently active, it indicates a prior or intermittent issue that may require diagnostic attention.

The manual transmission remains functional and shifts well, however the clutch throw-out (release) bearing is noisy at a stand-still while the clutch is not depresed.

The vehicle remains drivable however it is not being marketed as a turn-key daily driver. Instead it is best suited to buyers intending to undertake mechanical work, drivetrain changes, or full project builds.

Known Engine & Drivetrain / Chassis-Related Faults:

  • Engine consumes & burns oil
  • Cylinder 6 misfire code stored in ECU memory (not currently active)
  • Noisy clutch throw-out (release) bearing
  • Front strut top bushings noticeably worn

These disclosures are provided in full transparency to allow buyers to accurately assess scope, cost, and suitability for their intended project. This vehicle is best positioned as a mechanical project platform or conversion base, where planned upgrades will naturally address many of these items as part of a broader build strategy.
